I'd love to say the sun is shining brightly on this Easter morn, but that would be a lie. Here on the Front Range of Colorado, we're expecting drizzling rain for most of the day. Bummer for the kids as they hunt eggs; terrific for the drought dried lawns and pastures as a result of this very mild winter.
Nothing dims our Easter celebration though!
I got up early this morning and read the Resurrection portion of the four Gospels. Awesome stuff. What a promise. What a hope.
In Him will I trust.
We will join my aunt and cousin for an Easter Brunch up Boulder Canyon at the Red Lion Inn. Scenic drive (probably though snow flurries) up the canyon along Boulder Creek. It's a great drive in the summer. A highway winding through massive rock and gnarly pines. Years ago (you can tell how long I've lived here), only a few old buildings dotted the mountain splendor. Now, around every curve, you'll find homes, some blending with natures, others, not so much.
The Red Lion Inn is nestled off the creek, surrounded by trees. In the summer, tables are placed out in the lawn area and you can dine beside the creek.
Oh, yeah, the food is very authentic German/Bavarian : ) Yumbola!!
I know we'll enjoy good conversation with family on this sacred day. We will marvel at the Lord's handiwork as we wind our way down the mountain. We will come home with full bellies and knowing God loves us.
Who could ask for anything more??
Happy Easter and God bless you!!!
